UWM https://uwm.edu/nursing/ offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding (MSP ), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP ) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM , and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in proximity to each campus location.

 

Job Summary

 

The School of Nursing is seeking a Director of Clinical Education (DCE ) for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP ) Program. The DNP Director of Clinical Education appointment will be through the School of Nursing’s Office of Academic Affairs. This position reports to the Associate Dean and DNP Program Director and has management responsibilities for DNP clinical placement and project coordinators. The DCE has administrative, academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. This individual demonstrates expertise in clinical education, and experiential learning. The DCE primary responsibilities are to plan, facilitate, administer, and monitor clinical education activities on behalf of the academic program and in collaboration with the program director.

 

Hybrid work options are available with specifics regarding work location requirements discussed during the interview process.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Current board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Active Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Terminal Degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD)
  • Expertise in simulation-based learning and experiential learning curriculum delivery
  • Expertise in the development and maintenance of academic-practice partnerships
  • Previous grant writing experience
  • Familiarity with electronic learning management and clinical placement systems (Typhon, Exxat, My Clinical Exchange, Canvas)
